Singapore's A * STAR has announced an open competition to develop the best universal search engine. Feature of the technology to be developed by competitors is that it must search not only text content, but also for multimedia content.
The competition, organized by A * STAR, timed to coincide with the inauguration of a multifunctional complex Fyuzionopolis that will happen in the second half of 2008. To participate in it as a welcome development teams and single developers and architects.
Five finalists will be determined by August, all the teams who came to the final, will be invited to Singapore for the final round, scheduled for October 2008. Best idea for a new YouTube or Facebook would be awarded by a U.S. $ 100,000.
